Ms. Katie El-Diwany holds her BA in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame, where she studied organ with Craig Cramer and David Dahl, and her MM in Organ Performance from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, where she studied with Robert Bates and Matthew Dirst. Before starting as organist at Old St. Paul’s, Katie was Associate Director of Music at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen (Baltimore) and then Director of Music at St. Mark’s on the Hill (Pikesville). She also serves as registrar for the Baltimore Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She believes that good music can not only enhance the worship experience of every church-goer, but also provide insight into the mysteries of God and faith. She lives with her husband, Ramy, and their son, Wesley.
